A Day in the Life: Sustainable Beekeeping
We take you behind the scenes in the pure forests of Coorg to show you exactly how our partnered beekeepers harvest honeycomb sustainably.

Long before the mist lifts off the coffee estates of Coorg, our partner beekeepers are already walking the rows between hives. Sustainable honey starts with healthy bees — and healthy bees need clean forests, diverse blossoms and patient people.
Morning: reading the hive
Each inspection begins quietly. Frames are lifted one at a time to check the brood, the queen's activity and the stores of honey. Only frames that are fully capped — sealed by the bees with wax when the honey is ready — are considered for harvest.
Midday: harvesting with restraint
The golden rule is simple: never take more than the colony can spare. Enough honey is always left behind to feed the bees through lean months. The capped frames are brought back, uncapped by hand, and the honey is extracted and strained — no heat, no additives.
Afternoon: caring for the land
Our hives sit among pesticide-free forests and estates rich in native flowering trees. Protecting that biodiversity is the best thing we can do for the bees, and it is what gives each Regal Nectar variety its distinct flavour.

It is slow work, and that is the point. Harvested with care, bottled with integrity — that is a promise Lords Group has kept since 1995.
